Big data cooperation in Brabant

Big data cooperation in Brabant

Big Data Cooperation in Brabant is a fact. Province, municipality Den Bosch, Tilburg University & and TU Eindhoven just signed the founding of a new university study program for master’s and post-master’s-level data scientists. Around the world, data science is viewed as the field of the future: the Big Data Value Association states that big data will provide a billion euro market in new European sales opportunities. Both universities will jointly provide bachelor education and master’s study programs in the field of data science. This will partly take place on their own campuses and partly at a new, location in ’s-Hertogenbosch (the Mariënburg convent). The combination of technical sciences (TU/e) and the humanities and social sciences (Tilburg University) will broaden expertise, making the joint initiative unique in Europe.

Alongside education and research, the location in ’s-Hertogenbosch will focus on facilitating start-ups, in-company training, masterclasses, events and conferences. There will be close cooperation in the field of research and knowledge valorization with the business community. Data Management Expert AnylinQ from Den Bosch and Tilburg University visit Huawei Cloud Computing and Big Data congress in Shanghai and Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen, China in September 2015 for the latest developments on cloud and big data, and to build business and academic relationships in support of the data science program. The new university study Data Science program will start September 2016.
